I need to increase my storage. How do I do that if I don't know which subscription I have?

    Dear @LaQuanda,

Thank you for reaching out regarding your OneDrive subscription and storage options. Below are tailored solutions based on your current plan type:

    1. Checking Your Current Subscription
    • Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    • If you’re using the Simplified view, select Subscriptions.
    • If you’re using the Dashboard view, go to the Billing > Your products page. User's image
    • To see more details for a single subscription, select that subscription.
    1. Check for current storage in one drive:
    • Login to your OneDrive account.
    • Navigate on your left-hand side, the available storage will be shown at the end.
    • User's image
    1. Check for current storage in one drive:

    a. Default Storage: Most business plans include 1 TB per user. Enterprise licenses (e.g., E3/E5) support up to 5 TB.

    b. Contact Your IT Administrator: Only admins can increase storage. They can:

    • Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center
    • Navigate to Users > Active Users
    • Select your account → OneDrive tab → Edit Storage
    • Set quota up to 5 TB (5,120 GB)

    c. For work or school accounts (OneDrive for Business), increasing storage requires administrative action. By default, most business plans include 1 TB per user, and enterprise licenses (such as Microsoft 365 E3/E5) can support up to 5 TB. If more storage is needed:

    • Your IT administrator must assign additional licenses such as SharePoint Plan 2 or OneDrive Plan 2.
    • These licenses enable storage expansion beyond the default limits.
    • The administrator can adjust your OneDrive quota via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under Users > Active Users > OneDrive > Storage.

Please contact your IT administrator to request additional storage or license upgrades. Individual users cannot purchase or expand OneDrive storage on work/school accounts without admin involvement.

I hope you find this message is helpful. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have further questions or need assistance implementing any of the suggested workarounds. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
