Microsoft 365 - Access - "Import" no longer working after installing latest update.

I have an "Import" (.csv file to an existing table) that has been working for years. This month, after installing latest Office update, the import no longer works, "Err: Invalid argument". I checked the file to be imported and it is formatted correctly.

I am puzzled. In one of my databases I am able to import csvs as always. However, in a new test accdb I am getting an error, different from the one you reported, but blocking imports.

I need to do more research and survey some people on what might be going on here.

Also, I'm still on a prior build than you report.

Okay, I updated M365 to version 2503 Build 18623.20156 on my computer.

Importing a csv file now works as expected.

Try updating your M365 installation again. Let me know if that resolves the problem.

I set the config.sys file to: 16.0.18623.20156 and did a re-install. After finishing I checked the version of Access and it shows: 16.0.18623.20116. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I went into cmd.com as admin and executed: setup.exe /Config config.sys.

As expected the "Import" still doesn't work.

How do I get 16.0.18623.20156 to install?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    > I checked the version of Access and it shows: 16.0.18623.20116

Where did you check the version? You should check it on the File - Account page, NOT from the About Access button and dialog, because this is not reliably up-to-date.

Which update channel do you see on the File - Account page? The build you stated would point to "Current Channel (Preview)".

    > How do I get 16.0.18623.20156 to install?

On File - Account click the button Update Options and choose Update Now.

If that doesn't help with your import problem, you can test the opposite and go back to a previous version of Office/Access.

I updated M365 to version 2503 Build 18623.20156 on my computer and the problem still exists. Not sure why this version is working for you and not me. I will try going to a previous version of Access, but that doesn't explain why the latest version is working for you and not me.
