Syncing Microsoft Teams to SharePoint Issues and Renaming Teams/Channels

Please can someone provide some useful advice around Teams. I train Microsoft Teams for a job and one of the biggest issues I find is clients complaining about syncing. Clients often rename teams and channels which as I understand is still an ongoing issue and currently still open on the user voice. Is there any way to stop people renaming teams and channels or any advice around best practice to manage this at IT admin level? Best practice also for fixing sync issues between teams and sharepoint when the link has become broken by users renaming. Thanks in advance, hope Microsoft will address some of these important problems soon.

    Hello Anita Lund,

From your description, may I understand that you don't want the users to rename the teams and channels although they are the team owners? If not, please feel free to correct me. If I'm right, it is not feasible to do that. Given this situation, it is your submit your feedback and share your experience in our UserVoice service.

Regarding the problem about syncing, I did the same tests on my side. After I rename the team or channel, I'm still able to go to the SharePoint by clicking Open in SharePoint and the link wasn't broken.

To better help you, would you mind sharing any screenshots about the error messages or steps you have taken?

    Thanks for your time.

    Regards,

    Seven

This doesn't answer my question I'm afraid, there is nothing to show on screenshots, I have described the problem and there are heaps of people asking the same question on Google, it is obviously an issue because it has several hundred votes on the user voice. Thank you, hope someone can assist.

    https://techlab.ytria.com/issues-when-renaming-channels-in-microsoft-teams/

The above link is a good article on this and what I experienced.  I first renamed the Channel, but noticed in the Teams App the name was not updated in the Files section.  When I went into the linked SharePoint site, I noticed it was also not updated in the Documents folder.  I tried to rename it in SharePoint, but now my files are not visible in the Teams App.  Per this article, it appears I inadvertently broke the connection, by revising the name in SharePoint.  Updated with screenshot, as the "old" name is still appearing under the Files tab.

I face the same issue : channel was renamed in TEAMS but the sharepoint directory did not. When renaming in Sharepoint, the link to TEAMS is broken.

    Any solution ?

    Tks
