ReferenceValue.Item Property

The Item property retrieves an individual component of the distinguished name.

Parameters

  • componentIndex
    The zero-based index of the distinguished name component to retrieve.

Exceptions

Exception type Condition
ArgumentOutOfRangeException

There is no distinguished name component at the specified componentIndex value.

Remarks

The componentIndex parameter identifies which component of the distinguished name to retrieve, from left to right. For example, in the distinguished name "cn=jeffsmith,dc=fabrikam,dc=com", a componentIndex of 0 will retrieve "cn=jeffsmith" and a componentIndex of 1 will retrieve "dc=fabrikam".
