Create and delete agents

1. Sign in to Copilot Studio.

2. Switch to the desired environment, if needed.

3. On the Home page, enter a brief description of what you want your agent to be.

   Alternatively:

   • Go to the Create page and select New agent.
   • Go to the Agents page and select New agent.

4. Use the chat to describe your agent, using the provided questions for guidance.

   Alternatively, select Skip to configure and fill out the form.

5. Change the primary language your agent uses to communicate, if needed.

   Important

   You can't change the primary language of an agent after the agent's creation. However, you can change the region for the agent's primary language, if available. You can also add secondary languages.

   1. Select Edit language in the right-hand pane.

   2. Select the desired language and select Save.

6. Make your agent unique with a distinctive icon.

7. Optionally, select a solution and set the schema name for your agent.

8. Select Create.

   Note

   • The conversational agent creation experience uses your browser language. If your browser language isn't in the list of supported languages for the conversational agent creation experience, only the more discrete configuration experience is available.
   • The maximum length for the name is 30 characters.
   • The description can have up to 1,000 characters.
   • The instructions can have up to 8,000 characters.

Make your agent unique with a distinctive icon

1. Select the agent icon in the top bar.

2. Select Change icon.

3. Choose an image from your device. The image file must be in PNG format and less than 30 KB in size, with a maximum resolution of 192 × 192 pixels.

4. Select Save.

Select a solution and set the schema name

1. Select the three dots in the upper right-corner and select Edit advanced settings.

2. Select the desired solution, if applicable.

3. Replace the default schema name, if desired. You can't change the first part of the schema name here: the selected solution determines this prefix.

4. Select Save.

You can create agents in the Copilot Studio app in Teams and then share them with other people in your team, company, or organization. Bots created in Teams are all classic chatbots.

When you create an agent, it must belong to a team. Everyone in that team can see and use the agent. You can share your agents with people in other teams after creation. If you want other people to edit the agent, add them to your team.

You can create a new team, if necessary, before you add an agent to it.

The first time you create an agent in a team, it takes 1 to 10 minutes to build the necessary systems in the backend. Every agent you create after your first agent takes only 1 or 2 minutes to create.

1. Select the Microsoft Copilot Studio icon In Teams to open the app.

2. You can create a new agent in one of two ways:

   • Select Start now and choose the team you want to use.
   • From the Agents tab, select a team to use, then choose New agent.

   Note

   If you recently joined a team that already has an agent, you might see a message about it, since Teams is still adding you to the team. If so, create your agent in 15 minutes. Seeing a new team appear in the Agents tab might also take 15 minutes.

3. Give your agent a name and select the desired language.

4. Select Create to begin the initial agent-building process for your team, which can take a few minutes.

   You can close the loading window. The agent creation process continues in the background.

You can delete agents to remove them from your environment.

1. Go to the Agents page.

2. Select the agent you want to delete.

3. On the top menu bar, select the three dots (…), and select Delete.

   

   Copilot Studio prompts you to confirm your intention.

4. Enter your agent's name and select Delete agent. After a few minutes, all data associated with the agent is deleted permanently.

You can delete agents to remove them from your team.

1. Open your agent.

2. Under Settings, select Details.

3. Select Delete.

4. Confirm your intention by entering the agent's name. All agent content is immediately deleted.
