New Features
- The subflows list can now be reorganized, either through the available sorting options, or via custom reordering, to better facilitate subflow navigation within a flow.
Enhancements & Improvements
In the ‘Read from Excel worksheet’ action, under Advanced, more Excel data types are now supported in the produced datatable variable.
The ‘Safe stop’ option is now also available through the console for local attended flow runs.
Desktop flows using connectors can now run through the console without the need for repeated confirmation, when all connections are valid and owned by the user, or there is no option for a shared embedded connection. This change simplifies the process and minimizes manual intervention.
The Flow checker pane now offers search and subflow filtering capabilities.
The Flow checker now shows diagnostic (warning, error) status on the subflow tabs, as well as it offers a new button to navigate to the component that needs attention.
The default threshold of the Flow checker for the length of variable names has been readjusted from 25 to 40.
The Terminal session variable type has now moved from the Instance data type to a new category called Session, when creating a corresponding input or output variable, to be consistent with the Terminal session flow variable type.
The messages in the flow run confirmation dialogs (which appear when running shared flows or flows through their Run URL) have now been improved, to reduce social engineering risks and enhance owner identity handling.
Search filtering has now been added to the 'Flow to validate' option, when creating a new test case.
The console now disables the Refresh button while a flow is running, enhancing the user experience by preventing interruptions.
The console toolbar’s ‘New flow’ option has now been redesigned, to provide a single button for free Microsoft accounts, while preserving a split dropdown (with Flow and Test case options) for organization users.
The actions pane now displays item names with extended width for better visibility.
Remediation steps have now been added to the error messages of work queue, credential, and GPT actions.
Some updates have taken place to enhance the performance of desktop flows at runtime.
A WebView2 control for creating connections in connector operations has now been implemented, to avoid some relevant issues.
A new troubleshooting category under UI/Web automation issues has now been introduced to resolve MSAA registration issues that cause UI automation errors.
The troubleshooter for web automation now checks group policy settings that may block cmd.exe.
Support for Citrix has been enhanced to ensure better compatibility with newer versions of the Citrix workspace.
Repaired Functionality
The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:
An issue where saving an existing action resulted in a system error has now been addressed, by preventing the deletion of actions that are concurrently being edited or created.
The cache directory is now created if it has been deleted, preventing the cause of relevant runtime errors.
The issue due to which the console window position settings were not persisting has now been resolved.
Some localization issues in the ‘Crop text’ and ‘Trim text’ actions have now been resolved.
An accessibility issue on the ‘Get credential’ action has now been resolved.
A minor issue with a disabled ‘Close’ button, occurring after capturing an image through the ‘Move mouse to image’ action, has now been resolved.
Some missing tooltips in the right-hand panes of the flow designer are now displaying correctly.
An issue related to DLP policy evaluation failures has now been resolved.
A UI layout issue in a few action editor interfaces has now been resolved, by repositioning offset fields below the relative position element parameter.
An issue causing an unhandled network error during flow creation in the console has now been resolved.
The runtime error state on a subflow now persists, when the sublow tab is closed and reopened.
An issue causing Windows OCR actions to freeze during configuration has now been resolved.
Other announcements
- The options ‘Run over action’ and ‘Run subflow and return’ under the Debug toolbar option are still experimental and will soon be introduced as new debugging functionality.
