Overview

Microsoft Power Pages is a secure, enterprise-grade, low-code software as a service (SaaS) platform for creating, hosting, and managing modern external-facing business websites. Whether you're a low-code maker or a professional developer, Power Pages enables you to quickly design, configure, and publish websites that work seamlessly across web browsers and devices.

The 2024 release wave 1 includes investments across four major themes:

  1. Generative AI: With Copilot in Power Pages, you can speed up every step of the site-building experience, including design, content editing, page layouts, forms over data, accessibility, and security.
  2. Data Connectivity: Power Pages continues to invest in seamless connections to data anywhere and rich experiences with these sources.
  3. Collaboration with low-code and pro-dev tools: Whether you're a low-code maker or pro developer, create pixel-perfect experiences in Power Pages and collaborate to speed up time to value.
  4. Security and governance: Secure, monitor, and govern your websites with the Admin Center and in-context studio experiences.

Investment areas

Administration and governance
As an administrator, you can efficiently manage, configure, and maintain websites directly from the Power Platform admin center and the Set up workspace with the design studio.

The administration features enable you to:

  • View website details, capacity consumption reports, and other site information from the Power Platform admin center.
  • Use self-service diagnostic tools, such as the site checker, to identify and resolve common issues on websites.
  • Configure integration with other services like SharePoint and Power BI.
  • Restrict site access by IP address, enable maintenance mode on sites, and set other site administration options.

You also get governance features like:

  • Enhanced website inventory information for performing audits on the websites of the tenant.
  • Security and analytics views for tracking tenant security and user activity.
  • Data loss prevention settings, such as restricting anonymous user access to Dataverse table data from Power Pages sites.

Design studio
Power Pages design studio gives you a simplified experience for creating and customizing a website. As a maker, use the Pages, Styling, Data, and Set up workspaces to customize many aspects of your website within a single interface.

Power Pages Home gives you a single view of all your websites in an environment. You can also create more sites by using the available templates.

Learn hub helps makers learn how to build sites with documentation, guided tutorials, and videos.

Power Pages Copilot
Use Copilot in Power Pages to create parts of a website with natural language instructions. Use these instructions to quickly create a new site or make changes to an existing site.

For example, with Copilot in Power Pages, you can:

  • Create a website.
  • Allow website Copilot actions for users.
  • Get answers to questions while building websites.

Professional developer experiences
Professional developer experiences give developers the ability to create advanced customizations and configurations for their websites. These experiences cover several key areas:

  • Tooling support for development, such as Visual Studio Code for Web editor, Visual Studio Code extensions, and continuous integration and continuous delivery support with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
  • End-to-end application lifecycle management capabilities.
  • Extensibility patterns that let developers extend websites to handle complex business requirements.
