Business value
The enhanced Financial Reporting feature delivers significant value for report viewers and authors. Viewers can automate report delivery through email or the report inbox, and run reports across all dimension values, so they get better efficiency and visibility. Authors enjoy streamlined report creation with auto-filled fields, Excel-based editing, and dynamic column headings. These updates reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and support more flexible, currency-aware reporting. With these improvements, finance teams work faster and more efficiently.
Feature details
We enhanced the Financial Reporting feature with new capabilities for report viewers and report authors.
For financial report viewers, we added the following capabilities:
- Run a financial report on a schedule and get the report output in an email or in the report inbox.
- Run a financial report across all values in a dimension.
For financial report authors, we added the following capabilities:
- Demote fields as additional fields in the Options menu for the report definition.
- Autofill the No. and Description fields for row definitions.
- Get a notification to update financial report definitions when you change a name in the G/L.
- Edit row definitions in Excel.
- Move name fields up and add description fields to the card pages in the Row/Column definition UI.
- Support dynamic naming for column headings in column definitions.
- Column definitions support both local currency (LCY) and extra reporting currency (ACY).
