MCT Instructional Skills Overview

MCT candidates must prove they possess the instructional skills needed to deliver engaging, world-class training experiences to our learners.

• New candidates applying to the MCT Program must verify their instructional skills by completing a course offered by one of the organizations enrolled in our Instructional Skills Certificate Provider (ISCP) Program.
• Once you become a qualified MCT, you will not be required to submit proof of instructional skills for your annual MCT renewal process.

Instructional Skills for MCT candidates

To acquire verified proof of instructional skills, new MCT candidates must complete a course through a training organization enrolled in our Instructional Skills Certificate Provider (ISCP) Program. Microsoft does not accept digital copies of Instructional Skills Certificates (ISC) submitted by MCT candidates. Instead, our MCT Program Team works closely with ISCPs to verify MCT candidates have successfully completed an instructional skills program through their organizations.

• Your ISC Provider will verify your completion of their program by submitting your ISC information directly to the MCT Program Team.
• In your MCT application, you will select the name of the approved provider through which you completed your instructional skills program.
• Microsoft will verify your ISC using the information submitted by your ISCP.
• If your MCT application is submitted and reviewed before your ISCP has submitted your training completion information to Microsoft, your application will be rejected and you will be required to reapply to the MCT Program.

Approved Instructional Skills Certificate Providers

The list below includes all organizations currently enrolled in our Instructional Skills Certificate Provider Program. Review the options and contact any of these instructional skills providers directly to inquire about their course schedules and offerings. You may complete your instructional skills requirement for the MCT Program from any organization listed here. The ISCP does not have to be located in your same region.

ISCPs for Microsoft FTEs

Microsoft full-time employees (FTEs) may also use one of Microsoft’s internal instructional skills programs. These ISCP options are only available to current FTEs:

• Advance Modern Presentation Skills (AMPS)
• Instructor-led Essential Educate Trainer

The same ISC verification process will be followed for FTEs. Your internal Microsoft ISCP will verify your completion of their program by submitting your information to the MCT Program. In your MCT application, you will select the internal ISCP through which you completed your internal instructional skills program. If your FTE MCT application is submitted and reviewed before your internal Microsoft ISCP has submitted your training completion information, your application will be rejected and you will be required to reapply to the MCT Program.
