Application Server Role. Web Server (IIS) Role: Configuration error: SharePoint 2013

Issue: When installing SharePoint 2013 on a test server we got this error:

“Application Server Role. Web Server (IIS) Role: Configuration error.”

This was the first error and there was a list of errors to come.

Resolution: Followed the same steps given in this article by Fadi Abdulwahab and it worked correctly. Thanks to him.
