We have noticed the question “which template should I select” from users of the TFS Integration Platform when creating a new session configuration. The product “currently” ships with the following configuration templates:
Template | Technology Environment | When to consider … |
VersionControl.xml | TFS, TFS | Migration of version control data between TFS Servers |
VersionControlAndWorkItemTracking.xml | TFS, TFS | Migration of version control and work item tracking data between TFS Servers |
WorkItemTracking.xml | TFS, TFS | Migration of work item tracking data between TFS Servers, with identical process templates |
WorkItemTracking_ExplicitFieldMap.xml | TFS, TFS | Migration of work item tracking data between TFS Servers, with different process templates and the need for explicit field mapping |
ClearCase.xml | TFS, IBM Rational | Migration of version control data between TFS and ClearCase servers |
ClearQuest.xml | TFS, IBM Rational | Migration of work item tracking data between TFS and ClearQuest servers |
FileSystem_To_TFS2008 | TFS, File System | Migration of version control data from the file system to a TFS 2008 server |
FileSystem_To_TFS2008 | TFS, FileSystem | Migration of version control data from the file system to a TFS 2010 server |
… more to come :) |
