Driver names are still in the dark ages!
What does the filename 6my206ww.exe tell you? I am doing what else tech types do on a regular basis, and that is putting a new OS image on another mahine. I of course have to go to the vendor site to download all the drivers and while doing so the following thought just dawned on me. There are a list of 20 or so drivers with filenames that mean absolutely nothing to the reader. I have to click and view properties or run them to figure out what I am installing. In an age where we have the ability to give a descriptive filename you would think by now we could do a better job here.
In all fairness I still see business documents trying to force some meaning in an 8.3 filename format. There is just no reason for such medieval madness.
