Azure Key Vault SecretGet returning HTTP 500 since March 25, 2026 4:00 PM PT – Resource Health reporting Vault Degraded (Unplanned)

Beginning March 25, 2026 at approximately 4:00 PM PT, our application has been unable to retrieve secrets from Azure Key Vault during standard initialization workflows.

SecretGet operations against the following Key Vault are returning HTTP 500 Internal Server Error responses via the Azure SDK, impacting application startup and runtime functionality.

Impacted Resource: Key Vault URI: <Redacted>

Error Details:

Operation: SecretGet

HTTP Status Code: 500 Internal Server Error

ActivityId: 4363369d-2cd9-410a-ad30-82d8f1b32387

There have been no recent changes to:

  • Key Vault configuration
  • Access policies
  • Application identity permissions
  • SDK version
  • Deployment or networking configuration

Additionally, Azure Resource Health in the portal is currently reporting since yesterday:

Degraded (Unplanned)

At Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 12:12:20 PM PDT, Azure monitoring indicated:

"This key vault is degraded."

This aligns with the observed SecretGet failures beginning March 25, 2026 at 4:00 PM PT. We are requesting investigation into potential service-side issues impacting SecretGet operations for this Key Vault and correlation of the provided ActivityId with backend request logs.

    As per Engineering team the issue was with NSP, and it needs reconcillation. The internal team fixed it and now the issue has been resolved!

    And now you are able to SecretGet successfully.
