A scratched or damaged Windows 11 Pro product key on a COA or key card cannot be recovered from the sticker itself. The only supported options are:

1. If the license was bought digitally

• If Windows 11 Pro was purchased from the Microsoft Store app or a Microsoft website, a digital license or product key is in the confirmation email and/or in the Microsoft account Order history.
  • Check the email account used for purchase for the confirmation message.
  • Go to the Microsoft account Order history to see the purchase details and key (if one was issued).

2. If the license was bought from an authorized retailer

• For a boxed or digital copy from an authorized retailer, the product key is normally:
  • On a label or card inside the box, or
  • In the confirmation email / digital locker from the retailer.
• If the visible key on the scratch-off area is damaged, contact the retailer with proof of purchase and ask for assistance or replacement options.

3. If the key was for a Microsoft 365/Office product (not Windows)

• For damaged Office/Microsoft 365 product keys, if there is valid proof of purchase, Microsoft support may be able to replace the product key or provide other options. Use the Microsoft support page to contact support.

4. If the key is completely unreadable and no proof of purchase/online record

• When the product key is lost or damaged and cannot be recovered from email, account order history, retailer, or support, a new license must be purchased.
