Hello Kanupriya Sharma,
Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum
I understand how frustrating this is, especially when you’re recording in short segments and can’t predict which part of a clip will be lost.
At the moment, there’re a few workarounds have helped other users reduce or avoid the clipping:
- Leave a short buffer before stopping the recording
- After finishing your narration or action, wait 2–3 seconds before clicking Stop. This helps avoid the final frames being cut off.
- Test recording as one longer clip
- If possible, try recording a single longer clip instead of many short ones to see whether the cropping still occurs. This helps confirm whether it’s related to frequent start/stop actions.
- Try the Clipchamp web version
- Recording via https://clipchamp.com in a supported browser (such as Microsoft Edge) can help determine whether this is specific to the desktop app.
- Check for Clipchamp updates in Microsoft Store
- Open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates, and ensure Clipchamp is fully up to date, as recording-related fixes are typically delivered through app updates.
- Restart Clipchamp between recording sessions
- For longer workflows, restarting the app before starting a new set of recordings can reduce unexpected behavior.
Since this is impacting your workflow and appears to be inconsistent, it would also be helpful to submit feedback directly from Clipchamp (Settings → Feedback). This helps the product team correlate recordings with the saved output.
Hope this helps, and thank you for raising it.
