MS Edge continues to delete Passwords. On August 12, 2025, MS Help reinstalled MS Edge which stopped the deletion for about 4 hours. This issues stated to occur when I updated my windows 10 system to windows 11 through the win update system. My laptop with win 11 installed by the manufacturer over a year ago never deleted Edge passwords until win 11 was installed on my desktop. The other additional issue is that win 11 recovery usb drive can not be made. As a note, I have another desktop with win 10 and edge does not delete its passwords.

    Hi!

Need to check MS Edge settings first why password is getting cleared every time. There are few areas you need to look into:

    1. Verify privacy settings a. Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data on close → Make sure “Passwords” is off. b. If this is greyed out, a Group Policy or registry setting might be forcing it. This sometimes happens if you previously joined a work/school account or used a third-party security tool.
    2. Check sync health a. In Edge, go to Settings → Profiles → Sync and see if it says “Sync is on” with no error messages. b. If there’s an error, click Reset sync.
    3. Third-party security tools (tell me if you have installed these software) a. CCleaner b. Any Disk cleaner app c. Anti virus suites (Enod, avast, mcaffee etc.)

Let me know once done so I can assist you further.
