    Hey There

Are you using Desktop or Laptop?

I would suggest to connect to a different keyboard and see if its working fine. The most common cause for these issues are debris or dust under the keys that cause unresponsive buttons, so you may try gently cleaning the keyboard using compressed air. If multiple keys in different areas fail, it could be a sign of a failing keyboard ribbon cable or internal damage, which requires professional repair or replacement.

    I hope it helps.

    Hello Paul T,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A and informed us about the issue. From your description, I believed that the problems could be causing by a hardware-related issue and here's some troubleshooting steps that you can try:

    1. Basic checks:

    • Restart your PC, this can often fix temporary glitches
    • Clean your keyboard, make sure no dust or lint stuck inside and check for any sticky keys

    2. Check for Driver updates:

    • Open Device Manager (Right-Click Start button on the bottom task bar) > Keyboard > Right-click your Keyboard device > Update driver > Search automatically for drivers

    3. Disable Accessibility:

    • Open Windows Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard >Disable Sticky keys and Filter keys

    4. Test in Safe Mode:

    • Open Run dialogue (Windows +R) then input msconfig > Enter (you can enable on screen keyboard for this step if the "O" key still malfunction) > Boot tab > Safe boot > OK
    • Test the keyboard, if the keyboard working fine perhaps a third-party app or a driver may cause the issue
