I have an existing Microsoft account with a non-Microsoft (i.e., non-Outlook) email logon that won't be valid for much longer. When I follow the directions to do this by adding my existing Microsoft Outlook email before I delete my old one, it won't allow me because it says "that email address (my Outlook email) already exists. No kidding, Einstein, you just told me I could use an existing email! What's going on, this mindless circularity is driving me crazy!

    Hi,

When you create an Outlook.com account, you already have an existing MS account with it, which is why you have that error adding your existing Outlook.com account. You can set up a new Outlook.com account on your current MS account.
Go to the link below and click Add email. Then fill out the "Create a new email address and add it as a username" box and click Add username. Follow the prompt to create a new Outlook account for your MS account.
