Hi! Roblox crashing like that (then refusing to start again for a long while) is usually a sign of one of three things:
- Roblox can hit a GPU, RAM, or CPU error that forces it to shut down, and something in the background (like a graphics driver service) doesn’t reset properly until a reboot or enough time passes.
- Even after the game window closes, Roblox’s processes may still be running in the background, blocking it from launching again.
- If your system or GPU is overheating, it might trip a safety limit that prevents Roblox from launching until things cool down.
Check for leftover Roblox processes and temperature of components after a crash:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Look for Roblox entries.
- If you find any, right-click > End task. Then try starting Roblox again without waiting an hour.
- Check if your CPU/GPU temps spike before the crash.
- If temps are high, 80°C+ for GPU, 90°C+ for CPU, cleaning your fans or adjusting cooling may help.
