    This usually means your Windows 8.1 is missing another critical prerequisite update.

    You could follow these steps below to solve this issue:

    1. Run Windows Update:
      • Press the Windows Key + I to open Settings.
      • Click Change PC settings.
      • Select Update and recovery.
      • Go to Windows Update and click Check now.
      • Install all important and optional updates that are found. This may require several restarts.
      Once your system is fully updated, try installing the Visual C++ Redistributable again. If it works, you're done! If not, proceed to the next step.
    2. Manually install update KB2919355:
      • Go to the Microsoft Update Catalog page for KB2919355.
      • Find the update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (since you are using VC_redist.x64.exe) and click Download.
