Memory Leak Issue – Page Table Memory Gradually Fills Up

I’m experiencing what appears to be a memory leak. My PC has 16 GB of RAM, and after booting, the memory usage gradually increases until it’s completely filled. At that point, the system becomes extremely sluggish and unresponsive. Rebooting temporarily fixes the issue, but the problem reoccurs within about a week.

Windows Task Manager does not show any process using an unusually large amount of memory. However, when I use RAMMap, I notice about 4.2 GB of Page Table memory. Under the “Processes” tab in RAMMap, I see hundreds—sometimes thousands—of processes such as appidcertstore.exe, conhost.exe, and FileCoAuth.exe, each consuming 32 KB of Page Table memory, but showing no Private, Standby, or Modified memory usage.

I’m certain this is abnormal. Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to resolve it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

I'm Sumit, here to help with your query on the Microsoft Q&A forums.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. I am happy to help you today.

Memory leak is typically a symptom of a buggy software.

Does the issue persist in a clean boot state?

Type “msconfig” (without quotes) and press Enter.

In the System Configuration window, select the Services tab.

Check the box next to “Hide all Microsoft services”. Ensure you do it carefully, and not disable all Microsoft services.

    Click on “Disable all”.

Select the Startup tab and click on “Open Task Manager”.

In the Task Manager window, select each startup item and click on “Disable”.

Close Task Manager and click on OK in the System Configuration window.

    Restart your computer.
