I have a Microsoft 365 developer subscription and I would like to link in to my Visual Studio account. When pressing on the link and choosing the Visual Studio Enterprise Account, I'm getting the following issue.

Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.

    Dear @Yash Paupiah

Thank you so much for contacting Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Based on your description and provided image, I understand that the error message you're encountering is: "We ran into an error. We were unable to link your subscription. Please try again later." Correlation ID: 00000000-be00-43a1-XXX-XXXXXXXX

Please understand that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to cover your correlation ID in the description. Please notice to hide these personal or organization information next time you post error or some information to protect personal data.

This error has several reasons that may cause it:

    • Account Mismatch: The Microsoft 365 developer subscription might be under a different Microsoft account than the one used for Visual Studio.
    • Permissions Issue: The account may lack the necessary permissions to link subscriptions.
    • Service Outage or Backend Issue: Temporary issues with Microsoft’s linking service.
    • Expired or Invalid Subscription: The developer subscription might have expired or is not eligible for linking.
    • Browser or Session Problems: Cached data or cookies interfering with the authentication flow.

Therefore, I have tried to research and found some suggestions that you can try to check if they work:

1.Verify account consistency: ensure the same Microsoft account is used for both the Visual Studio subscription and the Microsoft 365 developer subscription.

2.Check subscription status: go to Microsoft 365 Developer Program Dashboard and confirm the subscription is active.

3.Try a different browser or incognito mode (Ctrl + Shift + N): this can help bypass any session or cache-related issues.

4.Clear browser cache and cookies: especially if the error persists across multiple attempts. Reference for Microsoft Edge browser: View and delete browser history in Microsoft Edge - Microsoft Support  (If you use other browsers such as Google Chrome,… you should clear cache and cookies as well).

Additionally, if it’s a backend issue, please wait and retry after some time may resolve it. Or you can reach to support team via Visual Studio Support - Customer Help & FAQs for account issue. Moreover, you mentioned that you have Microsoft 365 developer subscription so you can submit support ticket with Microsoft Support, see this link: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

I hope for your understanding in this situation as I really want to help you as much as I can. However, as a forum moderator, I have limitations in my resources and cannot access internal databases to check your account directly. So, please kindly reach to Microsoft Support via the links above for the most efficient help.

Also, I found some information about this link account that you can consult more:

I hope this information can help you to solve it soon.

    Wish you a pleasant day!
