Hi, I recently got a new Windows 11 laptop, and attempted to sync it to the backup that I had from my Windows 10 desktop. I stopped however, realizing that I didnt want to fill up the 512 MB storage on my laptop with everything from the 1 TB storage I had on my desktop. However. After the sync attempt, I am no longer able to connect to my home wifi on my desktop. It just says, "Some information changed since the last time you connected. We need additional information to complete the connection," and prompts me for the network security key. After entering it in, it stays connected for a few minutes before disconnecting and giving me the same message. I've tried forgetting the network, restarting, rolling back my network adapters driver, changing the preferred band, but the error persists. Is this problem fixable or did I cause a major error when stopping the sync?

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

    1. Are you able to connect your Windows 11 device to a different Wi-Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot? Are you having problems with a specific network?

Stopping the sync might not affect your connected Wi-Fi network. However, if you're experiencing issues afterward, you can try a few troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve the problem.

    1. Reset Network Adapters - Go to Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network settings > Network Reset and click Reset Now.

    2. Reinstall Network Drivers -

    • Open the Device Manager.
    • Expand the arrow next to Network Adapters.
    • Right-click your default Wireless (Wi-Fi) driver (Realtek or Intel), select Uninstall device, select the Attempt to remove the driver for this device check box, and then select Uninstall.
    • Once uninstalled, restart your computer.
    • (Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers during this restart).

Restart your Router as well and try connecting your device to your Home Wi-Fi network.
