Trouble creating alternative account
As an employee of Citi Group, I have two work email addresses:
- ******@citi.com
- ******@citi.com
Email #1 is an alias for email #2.
I created a Microsoft account using email #1. I can log into this account from https://myaccount.microsoft.com/with no issues.
Issue #1 I have since learned from Citi internal instructions to access my Microsoft account from https://my.visualstudio.com/ instead. The same account will not login @ https://my.visualstudio.com. However, this is not the main issue. I mention is case it helps you resolve the pressing issue.
Issue #2 Apparently (as per the same internal instructions), only email #2 has access to my Visual Studio product key. Now, that I know this, I am attempting to create an additional Microsoft account @ https://my.visualstudio.com/ using email #2 (******@citi.com). I enter the verification code, birthday, and name. When I submit the info, an error is displayed:
"We can't create your account." (Hopefully, the attachment is still attached). I cleared all browser cache. The other suggested "remedies" aren't possible due to Citi security polices which have my environment locked down. These shouldn't be a factor, though, because I am the only developer out of nearly 100 experiencing the issue.
Bottomline: I need to create a Microsoft account via https://my.visualstudio.com/ , using ******@citi.com as the email.
Please advise.
