Multi-monitor setups are increasingly standard for productivity, and Microsoft has been making strides to support this, though there are still some limitations depending on the Surface model and docking hardware. Surface Laptop 7 can support more than two external monitors, but only with compatible hardware. Many users report issues when using third-party docks, especially with ARM-based model
and the limitation often stems from dock compatibility and GPU/display output constraints, not necessarily the Surface device itself
Surface USB4 Dock can supports two 4K monitors at 60Hz or one 8K monitor at 30Hz and Allows daisy chaining of up to eight monitors, provided your monitors support DisplayPort 1.2 with MST. Compatible with Surface Laptop 7 (both Intel and Snapdragon models).
