Connecting a Microsoft Surface 7 Laptop to three monitors

Hi: I've read the prior threads showing trouble connecting the Microsoft Surface Laptops to more than two screens. Is Microsoft working on this? It seems fairly basic these days for consumers to work off more than two screens. I'm currently working off of a non-surface docking station. If I go the route of a surface docking station, are there guarantees of supporting all three monitors? Any support you can provide would be helpful.

Thank you,

Brian

    Hi Brian,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community, Regarding on you issue/concern "Connecting a Microsoft Surface 7 Laptop to three monitors". Multi-monitor setups are increasingly standard for productivity, and Microsoft has been making strides to support this, though there are still some limitations depending on the Surface model and docking hardware. Surface Laptop 7 can support more than two external monitors, but only with compatible hardware. Many users report issues when using third-party docks, especially with ARM-based model

and the limitation often stems from dock compatibility and GPU/display output constraints, not necessarily the Surface device itself

Surface USB4 Dock can supports two 4K monitors at 60Hz or one 8K monitor at 30Hz and Allows daisy chaining of up to eight monitors, provided your monitors support DisplayPort 1.2 with MST. Compatible with Surface Laptop 7 (both Intel and Snapdragon models).

Please let me know if it works. I await your response.
