How to receive authentication notifications on my new phone?

I have recently upgraded my phone and have installed the authenticator app on the new phone. Yet when I go to sign in using 2 step authentication, the notification is sent to my old phone, not the new one.
How do I make the notifactions go to my new phone rather than the old one?
