We have an Azure OpenAI resource in the UAE North region. Currently, in the Standard + batch quota view, there is no quota allocated for models such as o4-mini, in UAE North. However, according to Azure documentation, these models are available in this region. How to request quota allocation in UAE North for: o4-mini (latest available version) We require these models to be deployed locally within UAE North to comply with data residency requirements and reduce latency for our application users in the Middle East.

    Hello Aparna Devadas,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A and thank you for posting your questions here.

I understand that you would like to enable o4 mini in UAE North region.

    Regarding your concerns and questions:

Firstly, according to Microsoft documentation, o4-mini is available in UAE North. However, quota may not be pre-allocated by default, especially for newer or high-demand models.

Secondly. you can check current quota by Go to the Azure Portal, navigate to your Azure OpenAI resource, click on “Usage + quotas” in the left-hand menu, and review the TPM (Tokens Per Minute) and RPM (Requests Per Minute) for your subscription. You can find more details here - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-foundry/openai/quotas-limits

Thirdly, you can submit a Quota increase request in the same “Usage + quotas” panel, click on “Request quota increase” - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-foundry/openai/quotas-limits by fill out the form.

Also, you can specify the desired TPM and RPM values (e.g., 1M TPM and 1K RPM for default tier), review and approve based on current usage and demand - https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-ai-docs/blob/main/articles/ai-foundry/openai/quotas-limits.md

Finaly, for maintenance purpose, you must have the Cognitive Services Usages Reader or Subscription Reader role assigned at the subscription level to view and manage quotas - https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-ai-docs/blob/main/articles/ai-foundry/openai/quotas-limits.md

I hope this is helpful! Do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or clarifications.
