Hi Team,

I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 11 Home pre-installed. I have a Windows 10 Pro product key that was originally upgraded from Windows 8 Pro.

When I attempted to use this key to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro, it was initially accepted during activation. However, the upgrade failed and I received the error code 0x803fa067.

Could you please advise on how to proceed?

    Hi there,

I'm Cherrelyn and I'm here to help.

The error 0x803fa067 usually means your Windows 10 Pro key isn’t valid for upgrading a Windows 11 Home edition. Since your key is from an older version, it might not support direct upgrade on new hardware with Windows 11. The best option is to buy a Windows 11 Pro license or digital upgrade that matches your device. Alternatively, you can contact Microsoft support https://support.microsoft.com/ to see if they can help activate your existing key.

I hope this will help and If you have any question please feel free to ask.

    Warm regards,

    Cherrelyn
