Excel keeps giving "Something went wrong" error message for days

For days I have been unable to generate PDF's, or even print existing PDF's, saved on my 365 account. This error persists no matter what I do. I've updated Edge, cleared all cached cookies and temporary files, created new copies of my workbooks, etc. I just need to do some very basic work and this error is holding everything up for me. Does anyone out there know of a solution? Thank you.

    Hi there,

I'm Cherrelyn and I'm here to help.

Please try repairing Office from Settings > Apps > Microsoft 365 > Modify > Quick Repair first. If that doesn’t work, check your default printer set it to “Microsoft Print to PDF” temporarily and restart Excel. Also, sign out and back into your 365 account to refresh the connection; sometimes a stale login token can block PDF generation.

I hope this will help and if you have any question please feel free to ask.

    Warm regards,

    Cherrelyn

    Hi there,

Since you’re using the browser version of Excel, there’s no “repair” option like the desktop app. The issue could be tied to the browser cache, extensions, or a glitch in the PDF export service. Try signing out of 365, clearing your browser’s cache/cookies, disabling any extensions, then signing back in. If that doesn’t work, test in a different browser to rule out a browser-specific problem.

    Warm regards,

    Cherrelyn
