every time i try to get virtual box running it tells me i must download these dependencies first. i downloaded python package and the windows 32 api. also the c++ visual, but it acts like there is nothing there. just keeps telling me it needs these dependencies and it won't let the install continue. also i have seen many times that this is not even needed for basic operation. why won't it let me continue?

Hi! Oracle VM VirtualBox on Windows 11 does not require Python, pywin32, or the Visual C++ tools for a basic install or normal use. If you’re seeing prompts about “Python core with pywin32,” you’re almost certainly running either:

the VirtualBox SDK (for developers) instead of the normal installer, or

a third-party wrapper/automation script that checks for Python before it installs VirtualBox.

However, as this is a Microsoft forum, probably you will get better support for this situation with the developer support, as they know all the requirements for this to work.

If you don't need the developer edition of the software, you should try to install the regular edition of VirtualBox.
