Hi there!

I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or Windows issue. Anyways, every time I connect to my home Wi-Fi, the connection is stable for about 1 minute. After that, I lose all internet access. But Windows shows the connection status is still "Connected, secured". The only way to temporarily fix it is to manually disconnect and reconnect.

I'm facing this issue to only one laptop. My phones and other laptop have a stable connection to the same network. I suspect this is not a router/modem issue.

What I have done to troubleshoot:

  • Restart router and modem
  • Restart and reinstall Wi-Fi adapter
  • Network reset
  • Setting my laptop as a high-priority device in the router settings

I have no idea what I should do now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor, and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

I understand you are having problems with your WIFI connection.

Have you tried completely deleting the WIFI driver?

Here are the steps to completely remove a Device from your computer.

    Step 1. Use shortcut keys Windows key+ + X

    Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry for Network Adapters, Right-click the problematic device, which is either an Intel Wireless or Realtek WIFI adapter, and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device and then click the Uninstall button.

    Step 5. Reboot the computer.

After the reboot, please see if the problem is fixed.
