Outlook email cannot locate Dropbox link

Whenever I attempt to include a Dropbox link into an email, the link is red and when I hover over it, I get a message that Outlook cannot find the link from Dropbox. I have two other Outlook email accounts and they have no problem with emailing the Dropbox link. The problem email account is a personal account and the working email accounts are professional accounts. Not sure if that’s where the issue is, but I’m trying to resolve the issue by noting the differences between the accounts.. Setting choices are different among the accounts, but similar between the professional accounts. Same problem whether I’m on a MAC or pc.

    Hi there,

I'm Cherrelyn, and I’m here to help.

Please try pasting the link as plain text first, or right-click and “Remove Hyperlink” then re-add it manually. Also check your account’s mail format settings HTML vs. plain text and Safe Links or phishing protection settings, as these can block certain URLs. If the other accounts work fine, matching those settings might resolve it.

I hope this will help and if you have any question please feel free to ask.

    Warm regards,

    Cherrelyn

    Hey Michael,

Glad you found a way to get the link in there! If your mail format is already HTML, that’s a good start. Phishing or safe link settings can sometimes be controlled by your organization or antivirus, so if you don’t see them in Outlook, that might be why. If the link still acts weird, you could try sending it as plain text just to test, or see if it works better when accessed from a different email client or device. Sometimes Outlook’s security features get a bit strict.

Happy to help you and you're very welcome.

    Warm regards,

    Cherrelyn
