Hi

For about a month, I've been experiencing update issues with Windows 10 22H2. Every time I try to update, I keep getting the error code 0x800f0805. I've tried every suggestion I could find on Google to fix the problem, but nothing has worked so far. I even attempted to reset my device to factory settings, reinstall Windows 10 using a USB flash drive, and reuse the version of Windows that came with my laptop when I bought it, but all of these attempts failed as well. I'm not sure if I'm missing something. Surprisingly, security updates go through without any issues, and my laptop functions without major problems. My final question is, if nothing else works, will I still be able to sign up and enroll for ESU? I have many questions, but any suggestions at this point would be greatly appreciated.

Alain

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Just to confirm, when you reinstalled Windows 10 using the USB flash drive, did it not install the latest 22H2 version on your computer?

The error code 0x800f0805 usually refers to Corrupted system cache files or a problem with the Windows update components. However, if you have used the USB installation media drive to reinstall Windows, it should install a clean copy of Windows 10 version 22H2 on your PC.

    1. May I please know if you ran the ISO file directly from the USB installer, or did you boot your device from the USB drive and perform a clean installation of Windows?

To enroll in the ESU program, your device should be running the latest version of Windows 10 22H2. (All updates installed)

May I please know the version or edition of the Windows Operating system installed on your device?
Type winver in the search bar on the taskbar and click Enter.

Post a screenshot of the resulting dialog box.

We will be waiting for your reply.

Hello Alain Dobrah, I have also been having this issue with my Windows 10 PC, this pc used to run windows 7 so I added an ISO of windows 10, it was all running well until the 22h2 update, it would install and download but then it would redo all of it again, so I ran the command "SFC /scannow" on the administrator command prompt and it found corrupt files and was able to fix it, but I still seem to have the issue, I even reinstalled windows 10 and it's still not fixing and the DISM scan keeps on getting stuck at around 80% so I can't repair the pc. I've tried everything to fix it but I can't, I even force powered the pc 3 times to run automatic repair so I can completely wipe the system, but it would get stuck at 40% and it stayed like that for a WEEK! So, I don't know how I can fix it, but I am just ignoring it until I find the right solution.
