I wanted to compare two powerpoint presentations. Under review tab, the compare button was missing. On going to customize toolbar - all commands, the compare button is not there. I have updated Office too. Is this feature not there in Windows Office 2019?

How to get the compare button?

Hello Neena. The Compare feature in Microsoft PowerPoint is within Office 2019, under the Review tab in the ribbon, where it allows users to easily find the differences between two versions of a presentation.

If the Compare button does not appear in the review tab of the ribbon and is not listed as an available command in "All Commands" in the Customize Ribbon settings, the Compare feature may be missing due to an installation misconfiguration or UI cache.

As with most Microsoft issues, users should first confirm that the Office 2019 applications are completely updated (File > Account > Update Options > Update Now). If the Compare feature still does not appear, users should go to Control Panel > Programs > Microsoft Office > Change > Quick Repair. This will restore the missing UI functionality and should not change any user data. The Compare feature is fully supported in Office 2019, although it has been retired in Microsoft 365 PowerPoint version 2502 and later.

Here's the reference: Track changes in your presentation

    Best regards,

Thank you for the response. I had already updated Office 2019. I have now done a repair too as suggested. But no luck. The Powerpoint is showing as version 2507. So, even if it is Office 2019, the compare feature is retired for this version.
