We have a list view that contain 6 columns, and we might add extra columns in the future. Now how I can minimize the columns' width for all users? to better utilize the screen? I know I can drag the column boarder, but this will only get applied to me and not to all the suers. any advice?

Thanks

    Hi john john Pter

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum support

I understand your concern. However, based on current platform behavior, the inability to enforce column widths for all users in modern SharePoint lists and libraries is a default limitation.

When you manually adjust column widths by dragging, the change is saved only to your personal view settings and does not apply globally to shared or default views. Microsoft does not currently offer a built-in feature to lock column widths across all users in modern experiences.

In this case, from my perspective, the most practical workaround is to use JSON formatting to set fixed column widths. However, please note that each user must apply this formatting individually to achieve consistency, as there is no method to enforce a single formatting across all users.

If you’d like to try this approach, you can refer to the demo available at:

I understand this may not be an ideal solution, but at the moment, it appears to be the most feasible option I can offer. Additionally, if possible, I encourage you to submit this as a feature request via Feed Back Portal. Customer feedback is extremely valuable to us, it helps shape and improve our products for users around the world.

    Thank you for your understanding.
