Hi, as the title says I'm struggling to update my PC from windows 10 to 11, I have tried the normal way, the windows 11 installation assistant, and an in place ISO installation, however, none of them have worked. When I try the normal way and with the installation assistant, I get the error code 0x80070570, I've tried multiple things to see if there's a problem including, DISM, SFC, CHKDSK, Memory diagnostic, and a handful of others, all of them said if they found a problem they fixed it, however i still am unable to update it. When it comes to the ISO I get the error 0x8007000d - 0x2000c. I'd really like to figure this out since the deadline for the end of windows 10 is coming up and I'd just like to get this over with. Thanks.

Hi Pasta948, this is Kimberly, an independent advisor. I'm glad to assist you today.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, that really helps narrow things down. You've already done a lot of the right troubleshooting steps, so the issue may be deeper.

0x80070570 (with Installation Assistant and Windows Update):

Means “The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.”

    0x8007000d - 0x2000c (with ISO):

Means “Windows installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during APPLY_IMAGE operation”, usually due to missing or corrupted files.

Check TPM and Secure Boot (For Windows 11)

    Windows 11 requires:

    TPM 2.0

    Secure Boot enabled

    UEFI (not Legacy BIOS)

    To check this:

    A. TPM:

Press Win + R, type tpm.msc, press Enter.

    Look for "TPM version 2.0"

    B. Secure Boot:

    Run msinfo32

    Look for:

    BIOS Mode: UEFI

    Secure Boot State: On

If any of these are missing, you’ll need to:

    Enable them in BIOS

Update BIOS if needed (visit motherboard/laptop manufacturer's support page).

Should you have more questions, please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly

If none of the suggestions work use the ISO for a clean (new) Windows installation. Backup all your data to an external drive first (you should have done that anyway) and make a note of any programs you installed.

    Hi Pasta948

Have you checked if your pc passed all the requirements to upgrade to Windows 11?

You can use PC Health Check or WhyNotWin11 (open source) to confirm this.

    Best regards,

1] Please share your setup logs for analysis. The following batch file collects the setup logs and saves the zip file to your desktop.

    1. Download setuplogscollect.bat (GitHub) and save it to the desktop.
    2. Right-click on the downloaded file and click Properties. Click "Unblock" (if exists) and click OK.
    3. Extract the batch file to the desktop.
    4. Right-click on the file and choose "Run as administrator". It runs multiple commands to collect various logs. Let it complete. It outputs a SetupLogs.zip file on your desktop.
    5. Share SetupLogs.zip on OneDrive or GoFile.io and post the download link here.

(The batch file contains plain text code. You can read its contents using Notepad before running it. It collects the setup logs, msinfo32.exe log, drivers list, boot configuration info, and the compatibility appraiser results from your system.)

2] Share your Farbar scan logs.

    • Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool 64-bit FRST64.exe
    • If the OS language is not English, rename FRST64.exe to FRST64English.exe.
    • Run the program. Don't check or uncheck any options. Click "Scan".
    • Add the two logs, FRST.txt and Addition.txt, to a zip archive.
    • Share the zip file on OneDrive or GoFile.io, and post the link here.

Note: If Microsoft Edge or Chrome mislabels the Farbar Scanner executable as PUA/malware, choose to keep it by tapping … in the bottom bar, choosing Keep, and then choosing Keep anyway in the dialog that appears. See this screenshot. It's a safe tool used in most antimalware forums.
