Unable to Select Region in Custom Translator – Dropdown Not Working

I am unable to select a region when attempting to create a workspace in the Custom Translator portal. The region dropdown does not appear at all, and there is no option to manually enter or paste a region value.

I already have a Translator resource created in the West Europe region, and I have a valid key for it. However, due to the region selection field being non-functional, I am unable to proceed with the workspace setup.

I have tried the following steps with no success:

Used multiple browsers (including incognito mode)

Cleared cache and cookies

Confirmed that I am signed in with the same email account used to create the Azure resource

Verified that my Translator resource is of the correct type and in a supported region

Please advise how I can resolve this issue.

Oh wow, Mari, that dropdown ghosting u is such a pain, I can imagine...

First, make sure u're using the right portal link (so many people miss this!) https://portal.customtranslator.azure.ai

If the region dropdown is MIA, try hitting F12 and checking the console for errors. Sometimes a single failed API call breaks the whole page. Aha! double-check that your Azure Translator resource is Standard S1 tier or higher. The free tier won’t cut it for Custom Translator. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/translator/custom-translator/overview

Try Edge (yes, really). Sometimes Chrome/Firefox get weird with Azure portals.

Log out of Azure completely, then log back in fresh. Session glitches happen.

If u have a VPN, turn it off. Azure can be picky about geolocation.

if all else fails, just recreate the Translator resource in a different region. West US usually works like a charm ))

Let me know if the dropdown still hates u

and "yes" if you would follow me at Q&A - personaly thx.

    Hi Mari

    From Azure AI foundry

You can use custom translation service from Azure AI foundry tool under finetuning tab (AI services)

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/translator/custom-translator/azure-ai-foundry/how-to/create-project

    From Custom translator portal

Create a workspace first, Switch to correct directory if possible

    https://portal.customtranslator.azure.ai/workspaces

Then create a project to start custom translation training.

    Please disconnect VPN or proxy

Free tier Translator won't work as Alex mentioned.

    Thank you
