SQL Timeout Exceptions During Hyperscale Point-in-Time Restore

In a production environment using a hyperscale database, a point-in-time restore was initiated for a new database to perform a data fix. During the restore process, SQL timeout exceptions were raised by the application, although no other application-related exceptions occurred at that time. Once the restore was completed, the application returned to normal operation.

According to the hyperscale database documentation, the expectation was that the restore process would not impact the actual compute resources. What could be the reasons behind the SQL timeout exceptions during this operation?
