Dear @Karen Perreman,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. We are happy to assist.
Regarding the issue with the small font when opening files from your accounting system, please try the following steps:
Try Opening in Excel Online If available, open the file using Excel Online. This can help determine whether the issue is specific to your local device or Excel installation.
- Check Excel Display Settings
Go to File > Options > Advanced > Display Enable the checkbox for “Disable hardware graphics acceleration” This setting can improve rendering consistency and may resolve display issues.
- Try a Different Font Template Open the file and change the font to a basic system font such as Arial or Times New Roman. This helps identify whether the issue is related to a specific font.
- Reset Excel Templates:
Exit all Office programs. Ensure there are no files in the following folders: Navigate to:
C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART
press Enter to check for any files. If there are files, please delete them; if not, close the window.
Or
Navigate to:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\XLSTART or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\XLSTART, check for any files. If there are files, please delete them as well; if not, close the window.
Press the Windows key + R key at the same time, type "regedit", and press Enter.
Navigate to the following registry key locations and rename the Excel folder (right-click it and select Rename, for example, rename Excel to Excelold):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel
