Computer: ASUS TUF FX705DT Gaming Notebook, 17.3" IPS FHD, AMD Quad-Core Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx, 32GB RAM (WAS 8GB), 512GB NVMe SSD, nVidia GTX 1650 4GB, Windows 11 64bit Home (v24H2)(WAS Windows 10 64bit).
I bought this computer new in 2020. Not long after I got it, I tried the built in camera with the Windows camera app. The camera+app worked fine together at the camera's max resolution setting of 720p. I never tried the camera+app again until very recently- after many software additions including Windows 11 upgrade. Now when I try to use camera+app, I can only record video at 120p. Anything higher and the app simply crashes to desktop as soon as I click record. Windows error reporting shows that the camera app is the culprit, faulting module name: ntdll.dll, exception code 0xc0000374.
I am able to capture stills at the camera's max setting.
I installed something called OBS studio. The camera works fine at max setting. I hate this software, it's just too complex for me and my very basic needs, and saves as .MKV.
Things I've tried:
Widows update
Malware/virus scan
Camera troubleshooter
Camera privacy settings
Uninstall/reinstall camera drivers (several times)
Uninstall/reinstall camera (several times)
Uninstall/reinstall Camera app (several times)
Ran System File Check. “No integrity violations detected”.
- Ran Deployment Imaging Servicing and Management. Completed successfully.
Ran Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool, “detected no errors”.
I'm pretty much at the end of my rope...and well beyond my technical capabilities.
Any help or sympathy would be appreciated. Thanks!
