If you have deleted the AppData folder, then honestly you will not be able to recreate that folder even if you have recovered all deleted files, the AppData folder structure is very complex and there is no working method to recreate the previous AppData folder structure, re-installing the apps will also not work, your only option will be to backup your files and clean install Windows using a bootable USB.
Restoring deleted AppData from system drive
Hi
I hope someone can help me. My SSD system drive kept filling up despite running general housecleaning routines. I accidentally deleted all files in the AppData folder. After restarting my PC, my desktop home screen was reset to black and all the apps I had pinned to my taskbar were blank. When I clicked on them, an error message appeared saying, "Can't open this item: It may have been removed, deleted or renamed....". I tried system restore, but it couldn't restore them and there was nothing in my recycle bin.
I tried running Disk Drill and it identified the deleted files but wouldn't allow me to recover all of them unless I paid. I kept a copy of the log file. However, I downloaded a recommended free app, called WinfrGUI. It took almost 2 days to scan. I saved the files it found onto a new external hard drive. The problem I have now is where do restore them to get my system working again? Possible suggestions might be simply reinstalling the apps or downloading and installing Windows 11 again. Any suggestions or ideas would be gratefully appreciated.
Can I just request that only those who are expert and knowledgable answer please as responses from those not experienced or qualified really don't help.
Many thanks in advance.
