How to get rid of pop-ups

I'm getting a pop-up that says my system is infected with a virus. Less than 8 hours ago I had a professional technician at Bestbuy Geek Squad disinfect my computer. Neither I nor Bestbuy can explain how it got infected.

I posted the same question a while back and I believe it provided a solution. I'm unable to view that question and answer without wading through 624,899 results for "block pop-ups"**** in Q&A. I used to be able to locate my previous posts with answers.microsoft, but Q&A doesn't support that. (Or does it? if so I'd like to know how)

    Hi ,

    In this case, you could perform an analysis with Adwcleaner from malwarebytes.

    I recommend you do an analysis with Microsoft's MSRT, analyze Windows Defend Offline scan and Malwarebytes.

    Microsoft Defend: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help-protect-my-pc-with-microsoft-defender-offline-9306d528-64bf-4668-5b80-ff533f183d6c

    Open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

    Then perform a clean boot and if you want to uninstall applications that you do not use.
