Request to delete Microsoft 365 Developer Program profile and release associated phone number due to inaccessible tenant

I enrolled in the Microsoft 365 Developer Program using my previous employer account, which led to the creation of a developer tenant under the domain *******, where I was the admin.

The associated Microsoft 365 E5 Developer subscription has since been deleted, and I no longer have access to restore or renew it. As a result, I cannot manage or delete the Developer Program profile, and my mobile number remains tied to it.

This is preventing me from registering a new Developer Program profile using the same phone number.

⚠️ I did not find an option to manually select the Microsoft 365 Developer Program as the product or support channel in this form. If this request needs to be redirected to a more appropriate team, I kindly ask that you forward it internally.

I request that the expired profile be deleted, and the phone number released so I can proceed with a fresh registration.

Please let me know if you need any additional information to verify my identity or locate the account.

    Hi @Subhamay Paul

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Please understand that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to cover your organization domain name in the description. Please notice to hide these personal or organization information next time you post error or some information to protect personal data.

I’m truly sorry to hear that your previous Developer Program profile is still tied to your old work account and that it’s now preventing you from registering a new one with the same phone number. I understand how inconvenient and frustrating that can be.

Since you’re unable to access the old tenant, the best next step would be to raise a support ticket (paid ticket) with the Microsoft Developer Support team. They’ll be in a much better position to look into your specific case and help resolve the issue effectively.

Please note that as a forum moderator, I do not have access to the internal systems necessary to investigate individual account issues due to privacy and security restrictions, but I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction.

Additionally, I know this might not be an easy decision, but you might want to consider registering a new Developer Program profile using a different phone number while waiting for the old one to be released.

I really appreciate your patience as you work through it and hope this can be resolved for you soon.

If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know.
