PowerPoint 365 will not play any embedded MPF4 video whilst using in Playback Trim Video mode

PowerPoint 365 will not play any embedded MPF4 video whilst using in Playback Trim Video mode (various files tried). The files will run in all other modes. It used to work 100% correctly.

Embedded MP3 will all run correctly and in Playback Trim Audio mode.

I am a experienced PowerPoint user

 

What has been tried so far

Your previous colleague has been through my PowerPoint Options and Preferences. (I think this would be worth rechecking this)

Microsoft 365 ran repair three times

Windows 11 updated and reinstalled

Microsoft 365 ran repair once again

Microsoft 365 and Office | PowerPoint | For home | Windows

    If embedded MP4 videos play normally in all views except when you use Playback → Trim Video, the issue is likely tied to PowerPoint's handling of trimmed media, especially after recent updates.

    Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration

    Go to File → Options → Advanced.

    Under Display, check:

    Disable hardware graphics acceleration

    Disable slide show hardware graphics acceleration

    Restart PowerPoint and retest trimmed videos
