lost excel document on android phone

i was using excel on my android phone to keep my accounts.everytime i open excel,accounting spreadsheet was the first on the list together with some other spreadsheets. when i changed country by plane and tried to open excel document again it disappeared. i thought i was saving it into the device. i checked everywhere i couldnt find. could it be in another account? how comes it disappeared. how can i trust excel anymore. it doesnt look like secure at all. this is not first time it happened.

    Hi,

    I understand that some files disappeared in Excel, but just a heads app, Excel app is just used to create a file and it is not responsible on storing the file within the Excel app itself. You can indeed see the list of the Excel file that you just recently created or opened but those files are not saved directly on the Excel, thus, its saved on the location you choose on where you want the file to be saved, either on your Phone or OneDrive.

    If you cannot see it on your local storage, try to check on the OneDrive online using the account you used to sign in to Excel app, and see if you can see the files in there .

    i checked one drive, also i checked device storage it was not there. it just disappeared. excel should have asked me where to save. when i close the file it saves somewhere.it must be either onedrive or device. i checked both and it was not there.how comes changing country has interpreted the phone?is there anything i can do?

    when i exit the excel it automatically saves. that is what i know. in my excel i can see 2 accounts open and device. i think i remember that i was always chosing device as where to store. when excel closes it saves but how comes when i changed country i cannot see it in recent documents.neither other locations. i think this is the reason i should not use excel neither recommend to anyone.
