MS Word for iPad latest update breaks Search functionality

After updating my iPad to 18.6 and installing the latest MS Word update, the Search functionality is completely broken:
- Open a document
- Touch the screen to enter edit mode
- Touch the Find icon
- Type in a string in the find text field and hit ENTER
- The dialog closes with no result
- Press cmd-f to enter Find mode.
- Nothing happens
This is a major breakage which forces me to use another app.

Microsoft needs to communicate better with their customers. Like when Word for iPad lost the ability to find words in a document (currently happening as of Aug 3, 2025) or had changed the name of customer folders in OneDrive a few months earlier.
Microsoft needs to acknowledge the bug quickly to their customers either thru the app itself or email or text then state when the problem will be resolved. Otherwise they risk losing control of the narrative which could turn against them in the message boards, public media and elsewhere on the Internet.
Being proactive with their customers not only builds trust and good will but will reduce support call volumes.

Sad that I never got an acknowledgment from Microsoft on the problem. Guess, I’ll hear directly from them when they increase the subscription price.
