Expose Azure Virtual Desktop registration status via Azure VM properties or API

Hi team,

I'd like to request a feature enhancement for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) management.

Currently, there's no direct way to determine whether a VM is successfully registered with AVD from the Azure VM resource itself. This creates challenges for automation and monitoring workflows—especially when managing large fleets of session hosts.

Feature Request: Please consider exposing the AVD registration status (e.g., Registered, Not Registered, Pending) as a property on the Azure VM resource, accessible via:

• Azure Portal (VM Overview or Extensions blade)
• Azure Resource Graph
• Azure PowerShell / CLI
• REST API

This would allow for more efficient health checks, remediation logic, and integration with monitoring tools.

Use Case: In enterprise environments, we often need to validate AVD registration status programmatically. Having this surfaced directly on the VM object would eliminate the need to query the AVD host pool separately or rely on indirect signals like extension status.
