I started editing with Microsoft Photos, but I keep encountering an issue. Midway through my editing, whenever I try to apply a blur effect, my picture either disappears or turns white. I can't even save my work before this happens.

Hello Zuzzy. It seems like a bug to me. Please try to repair or reset the Photos app and reboot your pc.

You may follow these steps below:

Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps

    1. Find Microsoft Photos, click the three-dot menu > Advanced options
    2. First try Repair. If that doesn’t help, click Reset (this won’t delete your pictures)
    3. Then reboot your pc

Thank you for sharing the details.

    1. Repair or Reset the Photos App
      • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps
      • Find Microsoft Photos, click the three-dot menu, then select Advanced options
      • First try Repair. If that doesn’t help, click Reset (this won’t delete your pictures)
      • Reboot your PC afterward
    2. Update Microsoft Photos
      • Open the Microsoft Store
      • Search for Microsoft Photos
      • If an update is available, install it. Updates often fix bugs like the one you're experiencing
    3. Check File Format and Integrity
      • Make sure your image is in a supported format like JPEG or PNG
      • Try opening the image in another app (e.g., Paint or IrfanView) to see if it displays correctly
    4. Disable Auto Enhance (if applicable)
      • Some users report issues with Auto Enhance interfering with edits
      • Open the Photos app, go to Settings, and toggle Auto Enhance off
    5. Try Editing in Another App
      • If the issue persists, consider using a different photo editor like Paint.NET, GIMP, or PhotoScape until Microsoft Photos is more stable.
Let me know if the issue persists after following these steps. I’ll be happy to assist further if needed.
If the issue has been resolved, kindly mark the response as Answered.
