Good day @Coomaciste Ltd
Welcome to Q&A forum!
You can manage your Microsoft 365 Account independently, but it depends on the original setup. Whether you can take full control depends on who owns the Microsoft 365 tenant and how your account was provisioned.
There are two scenarios and what you can do:
- Your Account Is Under the IT Company’s Tenant
If your email is something like ******@theircompany.onmicrosoft.com
, then:
- The IT company owns the tenant and has admin rights.
- You cannot manage licenses, users, or billing independently.
- You’ll need their cooperation to detach your account.
-What you can do
- Request Admin Consent: Ask the IT company to detach your account from their tenant.
- Backup Your Data: Export emails, files, and contacts before detachment.
- Create Your Own Tenant: Set up a new Microsoft 365 tenant and migrate your data.
- You Have Admin Rights or a Separate Tenant
If you already have admin access or your account is under your own domain:
- You can manage everything via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
Manage Microsoft 365 user accounts
Also, may I confirm what you would like to manage with this account? & Do you want to leave the organization and take ownership of your account afterward?
If anything is unclear or doesn’t match your concern, please let me know with more details. I’ll be happy to take another look and make sure it better fits your situation.
