Good day Anton,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum. Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concern.
Whiteboard is a solid tool for visual collaboration and using it for mood boards sounds like a creative way to get ideas flowing.
However, as of now, Microsoft Whiteboard does not offer a built-in image cropping tool for imported images as well as saving or downloading individual images placed on a board. The Export function saves the entire board as a single image file (PNG or SVG), which can be accessed in the settings via: Export a whiteboard
If you need to extract specific images, a manual screenshot and cropping workaround is currently the most practical solution:
- Windows: Use Snip & Sketch or Snipping Tool (Win + Shift + S)
- macOS: Use the shortcut Shift + Command + 4 for targeted screenshots
As granular image extraction or cropping is critical both to your workflow and in architecture as well as interior design studios, I strongly encourage submitting feedback directly from the Whiteboard app. Microsoft actively reviews user suggestions for future updates.
Your input is sincerely appreciated and plays an important role in shaping future improvements. Thank you for your patience and for continuing to advocate for better support and accessibility in this area.
